Dr Tess Newton Cain has more than 25 years of experience working in the Pacific islands region. She is a former Lecturer in Law at the University of the South Pacific. She lived in Vanuatu for 20 years and is a dual citizen of that country. Tess has a vast experience in leading research teams with a particular focus on qualitative research methods. Her experience, expertise and reputation give her access to some of the most senior and influential people in the Pacific. Tess draws on her legal training to understand and assess governance across the region. Her recent research contributes to her deep knowledge of diplomacy and geopolitics as they affect the communities of the region.
