The ACT Chief Minister’s Export Awards is the ACT’s most prestigious business awards program, created to promote and celebrate innovation, global market growth, and hard work. Businesses across a variety of fields applied to be considered the ACT Exporter of the year and continue on to compete at the national Australian Export Awards. There are 15 award categories and Sustineo was in the running for five of them (for more these categories see our earlier blog here).
Last week the Chief Minister announced the winners of these categories, with our team winning both the Sustainability and Exporting Government Solutions categories. This is a great achievement for Sustineo and means we will have the privilege of representing the ACT at the 2019 Australian Export Awards as a national finalist in the Sustainability category!
Winning the Sustainability category is particularly meaningful for Sustineo. In receiving the award, Tom Sloan reflected that sustainability is the core of what we do; the name Sustineo literally means to sustain and uphold. An emphasis on the critical and inherent linkages between social, economic, and environmental sustainability is integral to the way we work in complex environments across Asia and the Pacific. We are proud that Sustineo’s approach to work contributes to processes that outlast the lifespan of a single project and the broader achievement of long-term positive outcomes under the Sustainable Development Goals.
As part of celebrating this achievement and success, it is important to acknowledge the contributions of the Sustineo team, our research and associate network and, critically, our partners in the countries where we work. Sustineo is its people and without their dedication and passion we could not hope to achieve the positive outcomes we do.
