Today, on International Women’s Day, Sustineo celebrates its commitment to recognising, supporting and promoting the key role that women play in promoting positive change. This year’s theme #PressForProgress recognises that – although significant progress has been made – we are still over 200 years away from reaching gender parity. #PressForProgress aligns with the seismic shifts caused by the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, through which women all over the world are calling for an end to gender based violence and other barriers to women’s empowerment. The time for complacency on gender parity is over and as the Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Kate Jenkins put it in a recent speech, “change is closer than it has ever been”. This International Women’s Day, both internally and across our projects, we are pledging to #PressForProgress.
