What drew you to Sustineo?
I first came across Sustineo when I was an independent partnership broker on a multistakeholder research partnership which they were involved in. I thought they were an impressive bunch that had a good culture and camaraderie and hoped to work with them some day – so this is the fulfilment of a goal!
What do you hope to achieve during your time at Sustineo?
My career has been about using my time to support sustainable positive change in the world at scale. I am looking forward to working with Sustineo, their clients and collaborators to make a genuine difference, and learn along the way.
What has been your biggest learning experience from your career so far?
Ask – don’t assume. Trust – but verify. Listen – don’t just wait to speak.
Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I wish I had been born in the 18th Century – but only as a rich gentleman farmer or a nobleman! I love the fashion, the language, the manners and etiquette, and the dances (there used to be an annual Jane Austen Festival in Canberra that was the highlight of my year).
Outside of work, what are you passionate about?
Being present for those in my life whom I love. I find fulfilment in doing things that personally connect with and help people such as music (I am a singer, song writer and musician), yoga (I am a yoga teacher and life-long learner), coaching (I am a personal development coach). I also like to keep very fit and get out in nature.
What was the last book you read?
Sea People by Christina Thompson. All about the Polynesians, their seafaring and Europeans’ early encounters with them.
