Sustineo supports a Voice to Parliament

Graphic with speech bubble and text that says "Get the facts about the Voice. Get informed. Voice.gov.au" and the Australian Government coat of arms.

In a few days’ time, Australians will vote in an historic referendum on whether we should enshrine an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament in our Constitution. This is one of the most important votes in our nation’s recent history.

Sustineo says Yes to the Voice to Parliament because it aligns with our values and ethos.

We are fortunate to work with clients representing organisations and communities across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. We know that two-way communication and respectful relationship-building is crucial to ensure projects are successful and communities are empowered. Often, this involves acknowledging flaws and mistakes with humility, and putting our best foot forward to reconcile differences and ensure the best outcomes for everyone.

The Voice to Parliament is a chance to ensure that grassroots Indigenous communities who have long been marginalised from political decision-making are respected and heard, and that services and support for the Indigenous peoples in Australia are designed with their input and deliver and improve outcomes.

Although the Voice to Parliament is not a complete solution to address the past and present injustices towards Indigenous peoples in this country, it is a step in the right direction.

We hope Australians stick to the facts, listen to Indigenous leaders on both sides of the debate, and arm themselves with as much information as they can to make an informed choice when they vote on Saturday.
