Dr Maylee Thavat


Dr Maylee Thavat is an experienced development professional and researcher with particular expertise in rural development, agriculture and resource management. She has worked in the academia and both the public and private sectors.

Maylee’s PhD research focused on agricultural value chain development, poverty alleviation, gender and livelihoods in Cambodia. She has since worked with international government and non-government organisations on development research, evaluations and policy in rural development, climate change and resource management in the Pacific, Southeast Asia and South Asia. Much of her consultancy work has focused on the impact and evaluation of rural development projects.

Maylee’s current research interests include gender and energy poverty in agricultural value chains.
